Spring is Around the Corner
The winter weather seems to be holding on with recent below Zero temperatures and snowfall. With that being said the sun is rising just a little earlier and setting just a little later every day. In February alone we picked up 74 minutes of daylight from the start till the end of the month.
High School winter sports tournaments have started and some folks are starting to talk about NCAA March Madness for Basketball and the Frozen Four with Hockey. With all this activity taking place spring usually is right around the corner.
With luck, in 50 days (give or take) we may be in the field and those 50 days seem to go by so
fast. In that time, equipment is gone over again, seed and liquid starter start to show up at the
farm gate. I would like to remind producers is to sit down with their Central Valley Agronomist and review field plans well before those 50 days are up, just to makes sure everyone is on the same page.
Lastly, when visiting with your Central Valley Agronomist to review field plans, make sure that
they talk to you about our Nitrogen management program called Nitrate Now. The Nitrate Now program by itself or coupled with our Central Advantage program has continually impressed me with how valuable they are in helping to manage nutrients and other inputs.
